1. How do I collect on a hot check

If the check is for less than $2,500.00, you will need to give 10 days written notice by certified mail, to the check writer to pay. If no response is received, bring a copy of the notice, the certified mail response card, and a copy of the dishonored check to the County Attorney’s office. If you need assistance with the 10-day notice, please bring in the dishonored check.

2. Can you help me get an occupational license

No. That would conflict with my duties to the County. You may inquire at the Justice of the Peace office or hire an attorney to help you.

3. How do I transfer title to a mobile home

Mobile home titles are handled through the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (see the State Links section under Services ). This office can help you if you wish to hire the County Attorney in his capacity as a private lawyer.
