2. Can I drop criminal charges against someone if I am the victim

You can make that request of our office, but you should understand that whether to pursue a criminal case is the decision of the prosecutor, not the victim. The prosecution may go forward regardless of your wishes and you may be subpoenaed to testify. If you have been threatened or coerced into requesting that a case be dismissed, the person who did so is committing a separate crime that should be reported to this office.
